Allocations Find NFL Europe Teams

Four Vikings hopefuls found a home for the 2006 NFL Europe season.

Four Vikings allocated to NFL Europe were drafted by the developmental league.

Wide receiver Aaron Hosack will join the Frankfurt Galaxy. Hosack, a former University of Minnesota Golden Gopher, spent the 2005 season on the Vikings' reserve/non-football injury list. He had a strong finish to last year's NFL Europe season after missing the first six weeks with a shoulder injury.

Offensive lineman Sean Bubin, a 6-foot-6, 305-pounder who spent the entire 2005 season on the Vikings practice squad, was drafted by Hamburg.

Safety Marvin Ward, a Northwestern alum who joined the Vikings practice squad with four games to play in the 2005 season after spending time with Buffalo and Chicago, was drafted by Amsterdam.

Finally, kicker Jonathan Nichols, who spent spring and summer camps with the Vikings last year, was among the kickers and punters who will be assigned to an NFL Europe team later.

Also joining the developmental league this year will be offensive lineman Kyle Schmidtt, a Maryland product who spent camp time with the Vikings last year before the Arizona Cardinals signed him and allocated him to NFL Europe this year.

Defensive end Earl Cochran, who also spent camp time with the Vikings last spring, was added to the Amsterdam squad.
