In the days leading up to the jump-started free agency period, the Vikings had several issues facing them -- not the least of which being the disposition of their franchise quarterback.
But, in the minutes before free agency began, the Vikings made their first move forward -- signing free agent wide receiver Koren Robinson.
The deal was for three years with terms not immediately disclosed. Robinson, who was contacted last fall while still in a rehab facility, blossomed in the second half of last season with Brad Johnson as the team's quarterback. Viewed as the team's best deep threat, Robinson will like take on an expanded role this season.
* The Raiders officially released Kerry Collins Friday after rescinding his release earlier in the week. That paves the way for what many believe is the finalization of a trade for Daunte Culpepper. It is believed that the Raiders want to make a trade with a conditional pick attached for 2007 -- one that needs to be approved by the league before becoming final.
