The signing of Mario Williams by the Texans may have affected a ton of mock drafts at the top, but who do the draft analysts have the Vikings taking?

At VU, we've been doing mock drafts for years -- which have been mocked for just as long. During that span, creating and changing mock drafts has become a cottage industry with seemingly every sports web site or sportswriter feeling honor-bound to create his or her own board.

While many of us were sent scrambling by last night's announcement that the Texans passed on Reggie Bush, for the most part, that change hasn't changed how the prognosticators feel about the Vikings and their top pick.

Barring a trade, here's who the people that do the predicting believe the Vikings are going to end up with on the 17th pick in today's draft:

Viking Update -- linebacker Ernie Sims if they can get past his concussion, but maybe more likely Chad Greenway.

The Sporting News War Room -- quarterback Jay Cutler.

Dan Pompei of the Sporting News -- Cutler.

Nolan Nawrocki, Pro Football Weekly -- Cutler.

Pat Kirwan, -- linebacker Bobby Carpenter.

Mike Mayock, -- linebacker Chad Greenway.

Don Banks, CNN/SI -- Greenway.

Ourlads Scouting Service -- Cutler.

Pete Prisco, CBS Sportsline -- Cutler.

Vic Carucci, -- Sims.

Peter King, Sports Illustrated -- Cutler.

Dr. Z, Sports Illustrated -- Cornerback Jimmy Williams.

Todd McShay, -- Sims.

Mel Kiper, ESPN/Hair Club for Men -- Defensive back Jason Allen.

With all the divurgent opinions, there isn't a consensus. But, seeing as most all of us were picking Reggie Bush to go with the first pick until last night, we've learned that even the best mock draft ends up being used to train a puppy on Sunday night.

Let's get the picks started and get the mocking over with.
