Key Training Camp Dates Announced

The Minnesota Vikings announced their key training camp dates Wednesday. With a new coaching staff, the routine will be different than it has been in the past with rookies and select veterans reporting days before the full team starts practices.

Vikings coach Brad Childress announced the start and stop dates for the Vikings' 2006 training camp this summer in Mankato.

Rookies and select veterans will report to Minnesota State, Mankato on July 27.

The full team will start practicing on July 30, and the Vikings are expected to have at least one practice against the Kansas City Chiefs. That date is expected to be Aug. 4.

The team will break camp on Aug. 17.

The Vikings could receive bids from other locations to host training camp in the future, but the 2006 version will remain in Mankato. will post the full training camp schedule when it is released.
