UDFA Analysis: OL Donald Penn

The Vikings are backed up with past starters on the offensive line, so the chances of an undrafted free agent at that position making the 53-man roster are slim. But that doesn't mean they can't be developed on the practice squad. See what TFY Draft Preview had to say about the Vikings' Donald Penn before the draft.

Full Name: Donald Penn School: Utah State Pos: G/T

Ht: 6-4.5 Wt: 317 40: 4.99 Year: 4Sr

Bio: Four-year starter and All-Conference selection at both left and right tackle.

Pos: Nice-sized blocker best in a small area. Blocks with a wide base and controls defenders at the point. Effectively uses body positioning to seal opponents from the action. Gets movement from run blocks, stays with the action and jolts opponents with terrific hand punch. Patient, alert and plays heads-up football.

Neg: Lacks footwork, adjustment and gets tall in space. Not light on his feet or fluid on the second level. Suffered a major knee injury with surgery in January.

Analysis: A collegiate tackle with solid size/speed numbers, Penn is a developmental prospect with starting potential at guard in the NFL.
