Still No Signings

While some teams have already locked down most if not all of their rookie draft choices, the Vikings haven't signed any yet. While the expectation is that they will have everyone signed before rookies report July 27, the time is running short to get it done.

The Vikings have made something of a tradition of waiting until the 11th hour to sign their draft picks. This year appears to be going in that same direction.

With less than two weeks remaining until the Vikings start training camp, none of their 2006 draft picks have been signed. The odds of getting Chad Greenway locked up this weekend seem remote, because he's getting married today and will have a short honeymoon before arriving at camp.

While this situation isn't cause for panic, it might be cause for some concern. The Vikings have been tempting fate by waiting on signing picks the last several years and it may be just a matter of time before they have their next Bryant McKinnie fiasco.
