From the time that word first got out about Koren Robinson's arrest on DWI and fleeing police, it seemed only a matter of time before he was gone as a member of the Vikings.
The hammer fell today, as the Vikings announced eight cuts, highlighted by Koren Robinson. Although the team had until Tuesday to officially make their cuts, they wasted little time after Friday night's win over the Ravens.
The other players released were tackle Sean Bubin, defensive tackle Manase Hopoi, wide receiver Aaron Hosack, fullback Brandon Jones, linebacker Marcus Lawrence, safety Ahmad Treaudo and guard Mark Wilson.
After Friday's game, Brad Childress hinted that the team wouldn't wait until Tuesday to announce the first batch of cuts, but told VU that releasing players is one of the biggest downsides to being a NFL head coach.
"It's always a tough part (of the job)," Childress told VU. "It always has been. It's the National Football League and that's what happens when you start to waive players."
The Vikings will have to reduce their rosters to 53 by next weekend.
