Record-Seekers vs. Packers
GAME NOTES vs. PACKERS
Billy McMullen is the first player in team history to score via a reception and a fumble return in the same game. He is only the fourth player in team history to score on a fumble by his own team, joining John Beasley (1969), Jim Lash (1975) and Anthony Parker (1994).
Mewelde Moore's 14 punt return yards moved him into fifth place in team history, giving him 552. Ahead of him are Leo Lewis (1,812), David Palmer (1,610), Charlie West (820) and Eddie Payton (733).
Chester Taylor now has 193 rushing attempts this season, moving past Chuck Foreman's 182 and into second place for most attempts in a player's first season with the Vikings. Alfred Anderson holds the record with 201 in 1984. Taylor also moved into second place for most rushing yards in a player's first season with the Vikings. His 783 yards moved him past Anderson's 773 and into second place behind Foreman's 801 in 1973.
Taylor's 20 rushing attempts give him a season total of seven games with at least 20 carries, tying him with Robert Smith's 2000 season and trailing only Foreman's eight 20-carry performances from 1975. The difference is the Vikings are only 4-3 when Taylor carries 20 times, while they were 7-1 with Foreman and 6-1 with Smith.
Taylor's 90 scrimmage yards give him a season total of 1,007, making him the fourth Vikings running back to do that in nine games and the first since 2000. Foreman did it in seven games in 1976, Ted Brown needed eight in 1981. Smith (1998 and 2000) and Foreman (1974, 1975 and 1977) also reached 1,000 yards in nine games.
