As the Vikings continue their warm-ups for today's game with the Bears, one player not in uniform is Troy Williamson.
Williamson was among the players deactivated for today's game and, unlike most of the others, he is healthy and available to play. A starter just two weeks ago, Williamson fell to the third, then fourth receiver in the Vikings lineup and, after falling behind Bethel Johnson on the depth chart and the return of Marcus Robinson to action, Williamson was deactivated for today's game.
As the team's only true deep threat, this has to come as a blow to Williamson -- the seventh overall pick in the 2005 draft. His status for the rest of the season is up in the air. Artose Pinner had been active all season since being signed, but, after two costly special teams penalties cost the Vikings their home game with the Packers, he has been inactive on game days since -- which might not bode well for Williamson.
