The Vikings signed Jerron Wishom, a 6-foot, 197-pound cornerback, to a contract this week.
Wishom played five games with the Packers in 2005 after they promoted him from their practice squad. He originally signed with the Houston Texans after being undrafted in 2005 out of Louisiana Tech. The Texans released him in the 2005 preseason.
The Packers released him prior to the 2006 regular season, and he spent the season on the 49ers' practice squad.
He is considered a physical cornerback that overcame multiple knee injuries during his collegiate career. At Louisiana Tech, he played in 35 games, starting nine, and had 48 tackles and three interceptions.
Wishom was a running back and wide receiver at Lutcher (La.) High School. He became a defensive back after his redshirt freshman season at Tech.
