Vikings Competing in NFL Europa

One Vikings-allocated receiver had a standout performance, two linemen made starts and another lineman was placed on injured reserve.

While the Vikings still have no clear No. 1 wide receiver, they have a slew of possibilities at the position with 13 players currently at the position, including three 2007 draft picks.

One of those possibilities is Justin Surrency, a receiver who was allocated to NFL Europa this spring and produced six receptions for 65 yards in the Amsterdam Admiral's 41-31 win over Hamburg Sunday. Amsterdam is 3-3 on the season and plays the 4-2 Cologne Centurions Saturday.

Surrency could be directly competing against cornerback Jerron Wishom, a Vikings-allocated player working the Centurions this spring. He had four tackles in Cologne's 20-17 win this weekend.

Vikings offensive tackle Jimmy Martin, playing for the Rhein Fire, started in the loss to Cologne. Rhein is 2-4.

Defensive tackle Alex Guerrero, who played for the Fire, was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury and did not play Saturday.
