>Vikings sign ex-Gopher WR Hamilton
The Vikings made another roster move, adding wide receiver Paris Hamilton.  A prize Junior College recruit by Glen Mason, a knee injury virtually wiped out his career with the Gophers.  He's spent 2005 on the Detroit Lions practice squad and went to camp with them again in 2006.  Hamilton (6005, 195) ran a 4.37-4.54 forty coming into the league and recorded a 32-inch vertical jump, 9'-5" broad jump, 4.08 20-yard shuttle, 11.43 60-yard shuttle and 6.91 3-cone drill time.  He has some size, speed and run-after-the-catch ability, all favorable characteristics for the West Coast Offense.  But it's still a pretty crowded depth chart at the position.  (StarTribune)(Lions bio)

>Lowber continues to learn as he goes
“In some instances, he’s starting to look like a player,” according to receivers coach George Stewart. Todd Lowber continues to make strides.  His agent also clarifies that his real forty times were 4.23 and 4.30.  (

>Chilly on the right track?
If the team can reduce its number of penalties, improvement could be on the horizon.  The team Childress inherited might have had more glaring holes than first thought.  Scroll down a ways.  (

>Palestine set to host ‘Adrian Peterson Day’

>Shiancoe gets another fantasy mention
Vikings tight end Visanthe Shiancoe gets another mention as a possible sleeper, albeit a ways down on the list, for those of you interested in fantasy football picks.  (FOXSports)

>Culpepper appears destined for Jaguars
It's beginning to look more and more like Jacksonville could be the landing place for former Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper.  Both Byron Leftwich and David Garrard have acknowledged discussions with coaches to prepare them for the possible acquisition.  Culpepper would be re-united with Mike Tice if the deal goes down.  (AP Story

>Projected QB opponents for 2007
Much speculation has surrounded just how successful second-year quarterback Tarvaris Jackson can be for the Vikings this season.  But let's put the shoe on the other foot for a second and look at the opposing quarterbacks that will be facing the Vikings' defense in 2007:

Week 1:  Atlanta - Michael Vick (or Joey Harrington?)

Week 2:  Detroit - Jon Kitna

Week 3:  Kansas City - Brodie Croyle or Damon Huard

Week 4:  Green Bay - Brett Favre

Week 5:  Chicago - Rex Grossman

Week 6:  Dallas - Tony Romo

Week 7:  Philadelphia - Donovan McNabb

Week 8:  San Diego - Phillip Rivers

Week 9:  Green Bay - Brett Favre

Week 10:  Oakland - JaMarcus Russell or Josh McCown?

Week 11:  N.Y. Giants - Eli Manning

Week 12:  Detroit - Jon Kitna

Week 13:  San Francisco - Alex Smith

Week 14:  Chicago - Rex Grossman

Week 15:  Washington - Jason Campbell

Week 16:  Denver - Jay Cutler

Unless the team's pass defense improves dramatically, any of these guys can have success against the Vikings.  However, they'll be facing their share of unproven guys similar to Jackson themselves.  Overall, it's not too intimidating.
