>This year’s WRs reminiscent of last year’s LBs
Coach Brad Childress compares the stage of development with the team’s wide receiver corps to the expectations most people had of their linebackers a year ago, according to Sid. He also raves about the impact of new veteran receivers coach George Stewart, and gets Rich Gannon’s take on what to expect from the Vikings this season. VU was on top of the wide receiver situation already in this archived story. And if you missed the piece on Stewart, click here.

Here's another take on Chili's comparison of this year's wide receiver corps to last year's linebacking corps.
If you haven't seen this YouTube highlight reel of Adrian Peterson from college check it out. My personal favorite is about the third play in when he catches a simple little swing pass and takes it to the house down the right sideline against UAB. >Fame hasn't changed Peterson's small-town values
A hero back home, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has remained down-to-earth despite his notoriety and success. Here's a report from KLTV.com in Palestine, Tex.
Wide receiver Qadry Ismail was a second-round pick by the Vikings in 1993 and spent four seasons with the Vikings. His best years statistically were with Baltimore (1999-2001) before finishing his career with Indianapolis in 2002. Viking fans may not remember this, but Qadry had a 44-yard touchdown catch in the Ravens’ 34-7 Super Bowl XXV win over the Giants. So he got his ring and has since retired. According to this story in a TheTimesLeader.com, “The Missile” now prefers launching golf balls. Ismail also does some football analysis for ESPN. Other links: (Syracuse bio) (wikipedia)
