Vikings Down to 75

The Vikings finished their roster paring to 75 players Tuesday morning by releasing one player and placing two more on waived-injured.

The Vikings released wide receiver Justin Surrency and placed linebacker Cameron Siskowic and cornerback Mike Hawkins on waived-injured, bringing the club to the required 75-man roster maximum imposed by the NFL

The Vikings have one roster exemption, guard Seppo Evwaraye, for the "international practice squad."

The team will have to go through another round of cuts by Saturday afternoon, which will call for NFL teams to have their rosters down to 53 players, the maximum number of active players for the regular season. The team can start forming its eight-man practice squad 24 hours after Saturday's 3 p.m. deadline, likely adding a number of players that cleared waivers.

Siskowic (head and neck) and Hawkins (ribs) likely will clear waivers in the next 24 hours and then have to either be added to the season-ending injured-reserve list or come to an injury-settlement agreement with the club.

Siskowic was injured in Saturday night's game and removed from the field on a backboard after laying on the ground for several minutes while players gathered around for prayer and well wishes. He was spotted moving his fingers as he was being placed in an ambulance that drove onto the field. He was taken to a Seattle-area hospital, where he was kept overnight and returned to the Twin Cities on Monday.

The team resumes practice today at Winter Park in preparation for Thursday night's season finale against the Dallas Cowboys.
