Despite the loss, Adrian Peterson continued to pile up individual accomplishments in the team's rookie annals.


  • Adrian Peterson tied Chuck Foreman and Mewelde Moore's team record for the most 100-yard rushing games by a rookie. Each of them has three 100-yard games.

  • Peterson set a team record for most yards gained from scrimmage after the team's first four games. He has 549 yards, surpassing Robert Smith's 512 from 1997.

  • Peterson set a team record for most net yards gained after the season's first four games with 669 yards.

  • Peterson's 55-yard run is the second longest in team history against the Packers, falling short of Michael Bennett's 62-yard run in 2002.

  • Peterson's 51-yard kickoff return ranks tied for third longest in team history against Green Bay. Koren Robinson had a 72-yard return in 2005 and Kelly Campbell had a 55-yarder against the Packers in 2004. Peterson becomes the first Viking in team history to have two 50-yard plays in the same game against the Packers.

  • Sidney Rice scored his first NFL touchdown with his 15-yard TD in the fourth quarter.

  • Brett Favre set the NFL record with 422 touchdown passes, surpassing Dan Marino's 420.

  • Favre moved into second place all-time for consecutive games started with 241, surpassing the Vikings' Mick Tingelhoff. Fran Tarkenton holds the Vikings' quarterback record with 74 straight starts from 1961-66. Jim Marshall holds the NFL's overall record with 282 consecutive starts. Tingelhoff had 240 starts from 1962-78.
