Record-Seekers vs. Cowboys

Adrian Peterson had nowhere near his record-setting performance of last week, but the rookie running back remains ahead of pace for a couple of franchise marks. Plus, Cedric Griffin and Kevin Williams moved into the top five in a couple of categories.

  • Adrian Peterson's 63 rushing yards gives him the team record after the first six games in any season with 670 rushing yards, 13 more than Robert Smith had at this point in the 2000 season.

  • Peterson's 20-yard touchdown run gives him a season total of 206 yards on touchdown runs, which moves him into second place for most yards gained on touchdown runs in a season. He is averaging 40.2 yards per touchdown run. Robert Smith had 244 yards on six touchdown runs in 1998.

  • Cedric Griffin's 28-yard own fumble return ranks second longest in team history. John Beasley had a 60-yard touchdown that way against Pittsburgh on Nov. 23, 1969, which remains the team record.

  • Kevin Williams' 15-yard opponent fumble return moves him past Charlie Johnson's 94 career yards in that category an into four place in team annals. Dwayne Rudd leads the franchise with 157 yards on fumble returns, Ed Sharockman has 116 and Paul Krause has 113 to remain front of Williams.
