Record-Seekers vs. Redskins

The Vikings had one player set a season record while Adrian Peterson continued to climb the franchise charts despite being largely held in check.

  • Heath Farwell set a team record for most onside kickoff recoveries in a season with his second one of 2007. His two career recoveries on onside kicks ties Terry LeCount's (1979-84, 1987) Vikings mark.

  • Ryan Longwell moved into second place for most successful onside kickoffs in a career with his third as a Vikings in seven attempts. He passed Rick Danmeier's two from 1978-83 in seven attempts and still trails Fred Cox's five from 1963-77 in 12 attempts.

  • Adrian Peterson's 27 yards rushing move him into second place in team history for a season, surpassing Michael Bennett's 1,296-yard performance in 2002. Peterson now has 1,305 yards, still well short of Robert Smith's 1,521 yards from 2000.

  • Peterson's 48 combined net yards move him into second place in team history for the most in a single season, and most ever by a Vikings rookie. Peterson has 1,897, surpassing Smith's 1,869 from 2000 and coming up short of Herschel Walker's 2,051 from 1990.
