Lauderdale, Fla.  Cousin of Warren Sapp.  Intercepted 12 passes, returning two for TDs.  Also lettered in wrestling, volleyball and track.  Served as an intern with the Legacy Financial Group during the 2007 offseason.  Single, with a son Benny III (7) and a daughter Brianna (2).  Resides in Overland Park, Kansas.

Pro:  Entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Chiefs inBenny Sapp 2004, signing a two-year contract (4/27/04), and earned a spot as the club's nickel corner by the season's end.  Played in 15 games (one start) in 2004; finished with 15 tackles, one tackle-for-loss, one interception, one forced fumble and 3 passes broken up; also added 13 tackles on special teams.  Played in all 16 games in 2005 (including 3 starts); registered 45 tackles, 2 TFL, 2.5 sacks, 6 PBU, one forced fumble and 6 special teams tackles.  Re-signed by Chiefs to a one-year exclusive rights tender (4/21/06).  Played in 11 games with 11 tackles, 1 TFL and 10 special teams tackles in '06; inactive for 5 games with knee and hamstring injuries.  Re-signed by Chiefs as a restricted free agent (4/3/07); played in 14 games, starting 2; recorded 30 tackles, 4 PBU and 1 interception.  Missed two games (Weeks 4-5) with an ankle injury.  Became an unrestricted free agent following the 2007 season and signed with Minnesota on 3/25/08 after also visiting the Cleveland Browns.

Positives:  Tough, quick, scrappy corner who plays with confidence and possesses the short memory you need for the position.  Well-suited for a zone-coverage scheme.  Fearless and effective special teams guy.

Negatives:  Limited stature and sustained speed.  Better in zone than matched up one-on-one.  Does not always maintain his composure (see YouTube clip).  There are some concerns about his character and deportment going back to college.

Summary:  Will compete for a backup cornerback spot and an opportunity to contribute on special teams.  Adequate nickel or dime cornerback.
