Former Vikings defensive end Darrion Scott, an unrestricted free agent who has gotten minimal interest in the open market, was arrested Wednesday in Eden Prairie.
Former Viking Darrion Scott was arrested Wednesday afternoon by Eden Prairie police officers and charged with probable cause felony assault after a search warrant was executed at this home.
Scott was taken into custody and charged with one count of assault, one count of domestic assault and one count of malicious punishment of a child. No additional information was being released concerning the incident.
Scott spent four years with the Vikings after being drafted in the third round of the 2004 draft. Despite having a need at defensive end this offseason with the injuries to Erasmus James
and the diagnosis of leukemia made for Kenechi Udeze
, the team made almost no effort to re-sign Scott.
Scott was arrested in December for marijuana possession while at home while home for the holidays visiting family in West Virginia.
Scott made free-agent visits to the Washington Redskins
and New England Patriots
in the past two months, but didn't sign a contract with either team.

The first hearing in Hennepin County District Court concerning Hall of Famer Carl Eller was postponed Wednesday until May 19. Eller was arrested April 10 on charges of felony assault and making terroristic threats after police attempted to pull him over for drunken driving. Eller got into a scuffle with police that included five officers eventually being involved and the 66-year old being Tasered four times.
The Vikings draftees have been assigned jersey numbers for this weekend's rookie camp. They include Tyrell Johnson (No. 25), John David Booty (No. 4), Letroy Guion (No. 98), John Sullivan (No. 65) and Jaymar Johnson (No. 11).
Former Vikings running back Artose Pinner re-signed with Detroit Wednesday. Pinner began his career with the Lions before spending a year with the Vikings in 2006.
Daunte Culpepper appears to be out with the Packers after the team drafted two rookie quarterbacks, but talk out of Oakland is that he may be brought back to the Raiders to serve as a veteran backup to JaMarcus Russell, the top pick in the 2007 draft.
The Falcons announced Wednesday that they have signed WR Chandler Williams. Williams was a seventh-round draft pick of the Vikings a year ago.
