Adrian Peterson became only the fifth Viking to gain 100 yards rushing on a Monday night game, joining Chuck Foreman (1976 and '75), Robert Smith (2000), Mewelde Moore (2005) and Ted Brown (1981 and '83). Peterson had 103 yards on 19 carries.
Peterson also tied Bill Brown for second place in franchise history with the most 100-yard rushing games in a season opener. Each of them have two 100-yard season openers while Robert Smith had three (1996-97, 2000)
