Kick returner/running back Maurice Hicks is inactive today and the Vikings promoted undrafted rookie Darius Reynaud to the active roster and made him a game-day active player today, presumably to return at least kickoffs and maybe punts.
Hicks had a critical fourth-quarter fumble last week during a kickoff return and hasn't provided the spark in the return game the Vikings had hoped since signing him as a free agent this offseason.
Reynaud takes the roster spot available since the Vikings placed CB Charles Gordon on injured reserve after he broke his ankle against the Packers two weeks ago.
Also deactivated for the Vikings are John David Booty (third QB), TE Garrett Mills, LB Vinny Ciurciu, OT Marcus Johnson, DE Otis Grigsby, WR Robert Ferguson and DT Letroy Guion.
The Jaguars deactivated DB William James, CB Omare Lowe, RB Chauncey Washington, LB Thomas Williams, C Drew Miller, G Milford Brown, DT Jimmy Kennedy and former Vikings WR Troy Williamson.
