The Rams have hired Vikings special teams coordinator Paul Ferraro, Viking Update leared at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. Vikings and Rams officials declined to confirm the move.
This comes just a couple of days after the Rams asked for and received permission from the Vikings to talk to Ferraro. It seemed almost certain that he would get the job, since he and new Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo are longtime friends since being teammates at Springfield (Mass.) College. One source said they were even roomates in college.
The hiring of Ferraro leaves the Vikings looking to fill the position. There is early speculation that the team will hire from within, with the top candidate being current assistant special teams coach Brian Murphy.
