Rutgers receiver on list of expected invites
According to a NFL.com report, the Vikings are on the list for scheduled visits that Rutgers wide receiver Kenny Britt has on his upcoming travel schedule.
Unlike many teams, the Vikings bring in all players for visits over the same two-day period which is scheduled for April 8-9.
Britt (6-3, 210, 4.47) is the 6th-ranked wide receiver on the current Scout.com NFL Draft Rankings.
He reportedly improved on his 4.48 time at Indianapolis by running a 4.40 at the recent Rutgers Pro Day held at the Hale Center and Indoor Practice Bubble.
“I think he’s right on the cusp,” according to NFL Network’s Mike Mayock, who has also covered the Vikings as a booth announcer the past two preseasons. “I think once you starting getting into plus or minus 25 to 40, right on the cusp of the first round is where I’ve heard most of the scouts talking about him. Off tape, I think that’s about where he belongs.”
Without question, Britt is a legitimate first-round talent and consideration for the Vikings, even at their current draft slot at No. 22. He has all the tools to succeed in the team’s West Coast Offense.
“Britt is a physically gifted receiver with tremendous upside,” according to Scout.com’s Chris Steuber. “He has great size, good strength and is a dynamic playmaker down field. He’s versatile; he can play inside or outside, he runs good routes and uses his long strides to his advantage. He’s not afraid of contact and makes a lot of receptions over the middle. He’s outstanding after the catch and runs with purpose.”
Britt has put up first-class workout numbers at the Combine and in pre-draft workouts. At 6-foot-3, 218 pounds, he has posted a 1.56 10-yard dash, 2.62 20-yard dash, 4.40-4.48 40-yard dash, 37-inch vertical jump, 10’-4” broad jump, 4.47 20-yard shuttle, 7.06 three-cone drill and put up 23 reps at 225 pounds.
