The Vikings have deactivated WR Percy Harvin, who has been suffering from migraine headaches since at least Wednesday. Harvin missed the week of preparation leading up to today's Bengals game, so his deactivation isn't a surprise.
The team will have CB Antoine Winfield back in action after missing the last six games with a foot injury. Winfield and Cedric Griffin, who along with Harvin and Winfield was listed as questionable, will start at cornerback. Griffin had been dealing with a neck injury suffered against the Cardinals.
The defensive backfield will be short two regularly contributing players – CB Karl Paymah and S Tyrell Johnson. Johnson, a starter, was listed as doubtful following a concussion last week. Paymah was questionable with a knee injury. That means rookie Jamarca Sanford will start for Johnson and Asher Allen should see an increased role when the Bengals have three- and four-receiver personnel on the field.
Offensive tackle Phil Loadholt, who was listed as questionable with a shoulder injury, is active and expected to start.
The complete deactives for the Vikings are Sage Rosenfels (third QB), Harvin, Johnson, Paymah, TE Garrett Mills, C Jon Cooper, DE Jayme Mitchell and DT Letroy Guion.
The Vikings had 14 players on their injury report released on Friday. All of the their players listed as probable on Friday – Steve Hutchinson, Adrian Peterson, Bernard Berrian, Anthony Herrera, Bryant McKinnie, Visanthe Shiancoe, Pat Williams and Brett Favre – are playing.
For the Bengals, J.T. O'Sullivan (third QB), HB Bernard Scott, S Kyries Hebert, FB Fui Vakapuna, C Jonathan Luigs, LB Dan Skuta, WR Jerome Simpson and DT Domato Peko are inactive.
Pat Sims will start for Peko and the Bengals made another change in their starting lineup. Nate Livings will start at guard for Evan Mathis, although Mathis is active.
