One veteran down. One to go.
On Wednesday, the agent for Pat Williams said he will be coming back, less than a month after Williams said he was "50/50" to return for the 2010 season.
Published reports say that Angelo Wright, the agent for Williams, said in no uncertain terms that Big Pat will be returning.
"Trust me, I know what Pat Williams is doing," Wright told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "Pat Williams is playing."
Wright said he has been in constant contact with Williams over the last week and that the 13-year veteran has committed to returning for another season. Still under the cloud of a potential four-game suspension if he loses his court battle over the StarCaps incident two years ago, Williams is due a base salary of $4.75 million in 2010 with a $250,000 roster bonus.
With Williams apparently locked and loaded for another season, all that remains is the uncertain future of a certain quarterback who is a future Hall of Famer.
