Record-seekers vs. 49ers

The Vikings didn't have much to show from their preseason effort at San Francisco, but Joe Webb at least made a dent in the preseason annals.

  • Joe Webb's 48-yard touchdown run was the fourth-longest scoring run in Vikings preseason history, and tied for sixth overall. The top five are Adrian Peterson's 75-yard touchdown run against Houston on Aug. 31, 2009; Bill Brown's 73-yarder against Dallas on Sept. 3, 1965; Tom Wilson's 64-yard touchdown against Los Angeles on Aug. 17, 1963; Vince Evans' 60-yard TD against Denver on Aug. 16, 1986; and Mewelde Moore's 50-yard run against Kansas City on Aug. 12, 2005. Webb tied Tommy Mason (Sept. 2, 1962 against Baltimore) and Darrin Nelson (Aug. 30, 1986 against Indianapolis) at 48 yards.
