Saints injury report largely unchanged

Like the Vikings, the Saints' injury report looks a lot like it did Monday.

RB Chris Ivory (knee) and LB Stanley Arnoux (ankle) did not practice, and LB Jonathan Vilma (groin) and CB Tracy Porter (knee) – both starters – were limited. T Zach Stief, who was limited Monday, did not practice on Tuesday.

S Pierson Prioleau (knee), TE Jimmy Graham (ankle) and WR Marques Colston (kidney) remained full participants on Tuesday.

DT Anthony Hargrove (knee) was added to the injury report and did not practice.

No changes to Vikings injury report

The Vikings didn't have any changes to their injury report from Monday to Tuesday.

CB Chris Cook (knee) and DT Jimmy Kennedy (knee) didn't participate, RB Toby Gerhart (knee), CB Cedric Griffin (knee), S Jamarca Sanford (ankle) and C John Sullivan (calf) were limited. QB Brett Favre (ankle) participated fully.

The Vikings and Saints don't have to declare the probabilities of an injured player being active – out, doubtful, questionable, probable – until Wednesday.

Two defenders still missing

Cornerback Chris Cook and defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy were missing again from practice on Tuesday. Both are dealing with knee injuries and neither has practiced this week leading up to Thursday night's Saints game.

Without Cook in the lineup, veteran Lito Sheppard is expected to get the start at right cornerback and Asher Allen should be used as the nickel back. The Vikings have only three healthy cornerbacks on the 53-man roster.

In addition to that, safety Jamarca Sanford has been limited with an ankle injury.

All the other players limited in Monday's practice – RB Toby Gerhart (knee), CB Cedric Griffin (knee), Sanford (ankle) and C John Sullivan – were also taking part in at least some of Tuesday's session.

It's all new for Rosenfels, Reynaud

Darius Reynaud and Sage Rosenfels are both learning completely new systems as members of the New York Giants after their trade there on Friday.

Reynaud is back working at receiver after the Vikings switched him to running back this offseason, but, just like in Minnesota, his main role will be returning punts. Even there, however, things are different in New York.

"It's totally different from what we are doing in Minnesota . . . the schemes are totally different," Reynaud said of returning punts for the Giants, according to the New York Post. "As soon as I got here, they gave me this book, and I've been right at it ever since."

The challenge for Rosenfels may be even greater. He has to learn a whole new offense that he says isn't like anything that he's had in his 10 years.

"The verbiage is completely different than anything I've been in, and that's going to be the challenge," Rosenfels said. "Basically, I'll be learning a foreign language. I'll do everything to make that foreign language to be my first language."
