Blues Goalie Brian Elliott Named Third Star For The Week

St. Louis Blues goalie Brian Elliott was honored by the NHL on Monday.

St. Louis Blues goalie Brian Elliott was selected by the NHL as the “Third Star” for last week, the NHL announced on Monday. 

Elliott went 2-1-1 during the week with a 1.48 goals against average and .955 save percentage as the Blues beat the Penguins and Red Wings, lost to the Blackhawks and lost in a shootout to the Avalanche. 

He followed up his career-high 46-save performance against the Canadiens on Jan. 16 with 36 saves against the Penguins, 29 against the Red Wings and then 40 against the Avalanche. 

Elliott, 30, is 10-6-5 in 24 games this season with a 2.23 GAA and .927 save percentage, which ranks 10th in the NHL. In 305 career regular-season games, Elliott has a 2.43 GAA and .913 save percentage with 30 shutouts. 

The Blues (28-16-8, 64 points) are off for the All-Star break and return to action against the Nashville Predators (23-18-8, 55 points) on Feb. 2 in Nashville.
