Nominations for PAA Board of Directors

BENTON, Ky. (October 20, 2014) - Nominations are now being accepted for positions on the Professional Anglers Association (PAA) Board of Directors. Nominees must be PAA Tour or Legends level members who will keep their membership in good standing during their term of service and must be willing to accept the responsibilities of serving on the Board.

Board member responsibilities include soliciting and receiving input from members, and considering, discussing and voting on matters related to PAA's finances, schedule, membership, future plans and other topics.

Three seats will be available following the end of their terms of service for John Crews of Virginia, Kurt Dove of Texas and Charlie Ingram of Tennessee.

“These gentlemen have been instrumental in guiding PAA forward during their terms on the PAA Board. All three have gone above and beyond the call of service. John Crews has served on the Board for six years and served as an Officer of the Board for three years as Secretary (2008), President (2009) and Vice President (2010). Kurt Dove has also served on the Board for six years and served as an Officer of the Board for four years as a two-term Secretary (2009, 2010) and as a two-term Vice President (2011, 2012). Charlie Ingram has served on the Board for three years. I join the entire membership in thanking them for the time, effort and dedication to PAA.” said PAA Operations Manager Lisa Bell.

"I would like to urge all PAA Tour and Legends members to thoughtfully consider serving on the Board of Directors. As the only organization that is angler owned and angler driven, PAA needs anglers to be active and involved in PAA business or to nominate someone you believe will be beneficial to the PAA, its cause, its membership and bass fishing. Our future depends on your participation," said PAA President Matt Reed.

Nominations for the three vacancies may be submitted to the PAA Office beginning today, Monday, October 20, 2014 and will be accepted this week through the close of business on Friday, March 24, 2014.

Elections will be held for two weeks starting Monday, October 27, 2014 and will end at 5:00 p.m. CDT on Friday, November 7, 2014. Electronic election ballots will be sent to qualified voters by email. Qualified voters can also submit their votes by email or phone with the PAA Office during the voting period.

To make a nomination or volunteer yourself to serve, contact the PAA Office at (270) 527-2030 or email Lisa Bell, PAA Operations Manager at during regular business hours. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT.
