Eric Craft Leads Day 1 AFT Championship

Eric Craft of Erie, KS sits in first place with 16.99 pounds after Day One of the AFT National Championship on Old Hickory Lake. Craft, also, brought in the 6.12 pound Day One Big Bass with his limit.

He did not give any clues as to what pattern he is fishing. "I had not had a bite at 11:30 today. It's definitely a late bite. I will have to work a little harder tomorrow," said Craft. Craft was AOY of AFT Division 126 and this puts him in the lead on the AOY race during this event as well.

The second place spot is being held by Ben McCormick of Shreveport, LA with 13.57 pounds. "If I can come in with five a day, I think I might have a shot," said McCormick. McCormick was AOY of AFT Division 48, leaving him in second place for AOY.

Joe Bennett of Avondale Estates, GA is the leading co-angler after Day One with 7.24 pounds. "It's certainly tough for everyone out there. I just happened to have been helped out by the boater that I traveled here with and my boater today," said Bennett.
