Hobie Pro Angler 17T

The new two-person kayak from Hobie is sure to not make to big of a splash. Great for two anglers, or one with a lot of gear!

Can we say Holy Kayak! Recently released at ICAST was the Hobie PA-17T, which has taken kayak fishing halfway to boat status.

For many people tandem kayaks are a must, but when the tandem isn’t in use the boat can be fished by a single person. Weighing in at 230 pounds fully rigged and a weight capacity of 900 pounds, there is clearly no limit.

My favorite feature is the lightweight H-Rail mounting system, which allows for quick removal and easy securing of all H-Rail accessories. The H-Rail is extruded aluminum dodecagon that provides a strong corrosion resistant platform.

The rail runs almost the entire length of the boat starting at the back of the first Vantage seat and ending behind the back of the second—providing plenty of space to mount more gear.

For those of you who might have multiple children or a bullmastiff, you should be stoked about the new Hobie Pro Angler-17T. Or people like me who feel they need to bring 15 rods and all their tackle.
