Seems like everywhere you turn there’s the promise of fishing’s equivalent of a better mousetrap—especially when it comes to multi-tools. Yet, most are made in China and are about price point, not reliability. Truth is, most are practically disposable.
Guess that’s why I’m so excited about American knife legend Buck Knives entering the fishing game with
Brandon’s video proves Buck has created a tool that cuts heavy braid with ease, while working as a scissors, deep hook extractor, capable pliers/needle nose combo, leader or split shot crimper, even has a bottle opener to help you unwind at the end of a long day on the water.
And just look at the thing—it’s built to last, like the rest of the company’s legendary knives. Although constructed of 420HC steel, the sizeable tool is a mere 8.3 ounces.
Gotta love the company’s “Forever Warranty,” too, which guarantees repair or replacement.
I had the chance to use the Splizzors while in the boat with Captain Frank Draper and Captain Frank Campbell on a recent fishing trip on the Lower Niagara.
All I have to say is su-weeet.
Definitely a great holiday gift idea – and one that will sustain years of use and abuse.
