Children’s Holiday Fishing Classic

Taking kids fishing during the holidays is time well spent! Especially if its under tournament conditions.

For the past twenty-four years in Wellington, Florida, children, fifteen and under, gather to fish the Children’s Holiday Fishing Classic. This is a free tournament that attracts competitors from long distances. In conjunction with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, this event provides everything a child needs to compete: Rods, reels, live worms, bread and plastic worms.

This tournament allows everyone to take a few hours away from the mad holiday rush, spend some time outside with the family and not spending any money. This gives children the opportunity to learn about fishing and cultivate the sport we so dearly love. The future of fishing is with our younger generations, and as you can tell in the video we have some aspiring professionals.
