I’m a fan of heavy metal. Guess I have that in common with top lure designer Patrick Sebile. Check out his singing (and the Metallica soundtrack) in this fishing video shot off the Panamanian coast.
And his Facebook page sets the record straight. “Listens to KISS, Van Halen and Queen.”
Sebile’s also designed a “Heavy Metal” line of jigs, which includes a multi-species slayer called the Sebile Vibrato. Personally, I’ve caught walleyes, smallmouths, largemouths, white bass, jumbo perch, and lake trout on the wicked, quivering slab of metal and trebles.
Unlike most bladebaits—which are nose-weighted and don’t vibrate until ripped after the fall—the Vibrato flutters on the fall due to its perfect center of gravity. Whether popped or “burped” when casting—vertically jigged—or trolled—it just gets eaten.
The Sebile Vibrato is available in sizes from a 2.5-inch, 1/2-ounce model through a 3 5/8-inch, 2-ounce model that I’ve been told is a great bluewater bait. Colors include Holo Greenie, Orange Gold Black—and my favorite—Natural Shiner.
My advice? Try a couple of the 1/2- and 3/4-ounce models. You won’t be disappointed.
