Warriors On The Water

Men and women from U.S. armed services gathered at Jordan Lake for a day of bass fishing excitement and a momentary opportunity to bask in America’s gratitude!

On May 15, the Warriors on the Water bass fishing tournament gathered 150 volunteer boaters—among whom many were veterans and wounded vets -- to take active service men and women stationed at Fort Bragg out for a day of bass fishing competition on North Carolina’s Lake Jordan.

Lew’s, a Springfield, Missouri-based sponsor for the event, distributed American Hero spinning rod combos to the active service participants. Lew’s has used profits from American Hero sales to donate rods, reels and combos to armed service personnel and organizations like C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation.

“Emotion of both volunteers and participants was high,” said Gary Dollahon, spokesman for Lew’s. “Everyone involved was deeply and truly appreciative of the work of our active armed services. It was a true joy to witness and take part in Warriors on the Water.”
