Fishing a School of Crappies

Dialing in a mass of fish from your electronics is very gratifying as they often prove to be unreachable. Not so here...

Once in awhile your electronics will detect a mass of fish below, and there's nothing like targeting them and seeing if you can get them to go. It can be frustrating to see them on the screen but not on your line.

Eric Haataja and Scott Skafar have found one such group, and they're pinning their hopes on their go-to artificial bait to bring them up. They drop down their lines with a precision that's almost surgical.

As is often the case, they also pull up a few surprises, and as most hot spots you find the action is relentless!
