First Coho

This saltwater captain is a long way from home on Haida Gwai island, but the salmon and lodge have convinced him to return soon!

Tyler Kapela has the distinct pleasure of fishing salmon and halibut out of the Peregrine Lodge on Haida Gwai, which is a chain of islands off the north coast of British Columbia. How far north you ask? You can literally see Alaska on a clear day.

Ty is just getting the feel of catching salmon here on day one, and this feisty Coho graced one of his casts. The salmon are abundant near the kelp beds off the rocky shoreline, and guide Jorgen Anderson put him on fish immediately thanks to a vey early start. The lodge operates a fleet of Boston Wahlers that head offshore every morning during the fall season.

Peregrine Lodge offers 5-star amenities in a location so remote one feels cut off from civilization but pampered in luxury. What more could you ask for in a vacation? To book yours visit
