Up around Haida Gwai, British Columbia, the Chinook Salmon are pretty much the top dog among the fish species. These mighty bruisers cruise the rocky points waiting to ambush prey and occasionally getting caught by skilled anglers.
But North American Fisherman's Tyler Kapela recently learned (as many other anglers have) that these fish are not at the top of the food chain. While he's used to sharks stealing fish from his line down in Florida, he wasn't thinking he'd lose a very big Chinook to a predator.
This brute took the easy lunch Ty provided in one swipe, and reminded everyone who is King of the Sea in these parts. No sharks necessary up here at the Peregrine Lodge.
