Watch: Exhausted Polar Bear Caught in Net is Saved by Locals

Local fishermen lend a hand to polar bear struggling to stay afloat off shore.

An Alaskan guide was taking tourists to see polar bears in their natural habitat in Alaska's barrier islands when the group saw a polar bear struggling in the water just a few feet offshore.

The bear was tangled in a fishing net from local fishermen and treading water, struggling to keep its head above water. A fisherman in the area took his boat out to save the bear and release it from the mangled net.

The fisherman, along with a few locals, led the bear to the shore in tough waters, and cut the net off so it could walk away freed.
