Venice, Louisiana has endured major setbacks in the form of hurricanes and the Deepwater Horizon disaster, but the community and the fishing always seem to bounce back. It might even be said it has made them stronger.
North American Fisherman traveled there to fish with Captain George Mitchell not long after the Horizon oil cleanup process was complete, and he proved the bite was back for Bonita, Blackfin and Yellowfin Tuna.
He runs down the live bait and tackle he used to entice these musclemen of the deep to grab their lines and give them a fight that left their arms aching. It's a good type of pain though. Ask any angler after a long day on the water.
