Stocking Wild Fish vs. Domestic

Fisheries biologists set out to determine which strain of stocked fish fares better.

Fisheries have become very good propagating hearty strains of fish that demonstrate strong growth rates and good genetic makeup for stocking.

But after generations of year classes, these fish have literally become domesticated. Is the better or worse than releasing more 'wild strains' of stocked fish into streams and lakes?

Biologists wanted to find out and Dr. Hal Schramm highlighted their findings in this episode of North American Fisherman.
