First, let me back up a bit. Many years ago I was fortunate enough to take part in a writer's hunt/ATV ride at the enormous Tejon Ranch, which is located about 60 miles north of Los Angeles. The Tejon is the largest working ranch in California, covering 270,000 acres! During 3 days of riding/hunting, I covered hundreds of miles on Yamaha ATVs. As I recall, I drove 450cc and 660cc machines. It was great hog hunting, even better riding and a trip I'll simply never forget. (Yes, that's me smiling in the photo below.)
About a year after that adventure, I bought a Yamaha for my own hunting and food plot work in the Midwest. Year after year I've depended on my Kodiak 400, and it's never let me down. I've used it to haul treestands, haul dead deer, spread lime (photo below), pull a fence drag to bury seed, spray for weeds, etc. The machine starts even in the dead of a Wisconsin winter, is easy to drive and I couldn't be happier with it.
That said, I can't help but fantasize about what my hunting/riding life would be like with the new Grizzly 700 Special Edition.
I know, I know . . . for my purposes, this machine would be overkill. But I still think it'd be cool to get a little buck blood on that tactical black paint job! Note to self: Stop on my way home from work and buy a lottery ticket; today might be my lucky day.
