Deadly Duo: Under Armour and Mossy Oak

It’s a bird, it’s a plane…it’s the author goofing off in his killer camo.

Most human odor is the result of bacteria, which need a moist, warm environment. Under Armour base layer is a synthetic material designed to wick moisture away from the body. It’s also treated with a silver-nitrate anti-microbial solution, which further inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria. The fabric is also treated with synthetic zeolite, which is reportedly more effective at capturing and adsorbing odor molecules.

When it comes to disappearing in a wide variety of environments—north, south or anywhere in between— you can’t go wrong with Mossy Oak Break-Up Infinity. In fact, as a testament to the pattern’s effectiveness, I had trouble getting good “grip and grin” photos of hunters with their bucks because the camo-clad hunters blended in too much with the Texas backdrop.
