“I still have an offer from ODU,” said Jermaine Trotman, who recently transferred to Ocean Lakes from Landstown. “NC State, UNC-Charlotte, East Carolina and Marshall are the other schools recruiting me. I think UNC-Charlotte is the closest to offering.”
His most recent camps were to NC State, UNC-Charlotte and Marshall, with Marshall being the latest stop.
“I liked it,” said the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Trotman. “It wasn’t that big of a camp, so I got a lot of reps to show what I could do, and that was good.”
”I went with my brother (Tyriuq Trotman) and we talked to (defensive tackles) coach (J.C.) Price the most while we were there. He told us if we keep working hard that we should have offers soon."
He enjoyed all three camps, but one stood out.
”I liked NC State camp the most,” he said. “I like how they broke up one-on-ones. The best people went in one group, so there was a lot of competition. The one-on-ones were my favorite part of the camp.
”While I was there, I talked to (cornerbacks) coach George Barlow the most. He told me to keep working hard in the classroom and after they see my transcripts, they’ll decide if they're going to offer."
Trotman has developed the strongest relationship with one particular coach.
“I have to closest relationship with UNC Charlotte (assistant) coach (Aaron) Curry," he said. "We talk to all the time. He always ask me how I’m doing and he wants me to come visit again soon for a game. They have also told me that I’m the No. 1 safety on their board for the 2016 class.”
In regards to upcoming visits, Trotman said he definitely plans to go to games at NC State and UNC-Charlotte.
