Cotton Committed But Getting FBS Attention

Panama City (Fla.) Arnold High School class of 2015 running back/wide receiver Torri Cotton has been committed to North Carolina Central since mid-June. The 5-foot-8 and 170-pound rising senior has begun to receive new interest from a FBS program.

Panama City (Fla.) Arnold High School running back/slot receiver prospect Torri Cotton has been committed to North Carolina Central since the middle of last month. The 5-foot-8 and 170-pound rising senior has continued to hear from Akron since his commitment and has also begun to receive interest from another FBS program.

”Southern Miss just started contacting me. They have been sending mail and letters. The hand-written letters have been from Coach (Todd) Monken (Southern Mississippi’s head coach) telling me that they have identified me as a prospect and know where I am,” Cotton explained.

Akron has been recruiting Cotton since this past winter and continue to do so.

”Akron has been sending me emails. They are still on me. They have been trying to get me to camp,” Cotton said.

Air Force, Charleston Southern, Florida International, Navy and UAB had all expressed interest in Cotton prior to his commitment. The diminutive back says contact from those programs has slowed since his commitment to North Carolina Central.
