What's Your Weekend Look Like?

Did you know that this Saturday, September 27, has been named National Hunting and Fishing Day? Here's to hoping you already have plans ... outside.

On May 2, 1972, President Nixon signed the first proclamation of National Hunting and Fishing Day, writing, "I urge all citizens to join with outdoor sportsmen in the wise use of our natural resources and in insuring their proper management for the benefit of future generations."

Did you know:

  • Through license sales and excise taxes on equipment, hunters and anglers fund most conservation programs.
  • These excise taxes, paid from the purchase of sporting firearms, ammo and archery equipment, benefit every state in the nation and have generated approximately $5.6 billion for wildlife conservation since 1939.

So, do you have plans to get outdoors on Saturday? If you're struggling, here's a little photographic inspiration for you.
