TBT: Can You Guess What’s In These Crates?

Do you consider yourself an avid shooter? Think you know a lot about firearms? Then step up to the firing line and examine the photo above before hitting the play button below.

Can you guess what’s in these crates? Recognize the red CTC logo? Hint: The setting is Las Vegas (Sands Expo), and this 2013 “Throwback Thursday” video was shot in mid January.

What you’re seeing is a booth build for the annual Shooting Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show, which is the largest trade show of its kind in the world, and the fifth largest trade show in Las Vegas. The SHOT Show features more than 1,600 exhibitors (including North American Hunter!), and these booths cover more than 630,000 square feet. The show, which is a trade-only event, attracts more than 65,000 industry professionals from all 50 states and 100 countries.

This amazing time-lapse video comes from our friends at Crimson Trace, makers of some of the finest Lasergrips/sights and lights in the world. And like most booths at SHOT, all construction is done onsite within 48 hours; everything arrives in a crate and everything goes home in a crate.

Stay tuned for more info—and videos—as we editors bring you the 2015 SHOT Show (January 20-23).
