A 'Blaze' Of Glory In .22 LR

If you think .22 LRs are all a dime-a-dozen, then the new Mossberg Blaze has apparently slipped past your radar.

We've all heard about the stages of evolution a hunter experiences as they progress through their hunting career. I'm stuck somewhere between "fill every tag possible" and "fill every tag possible with the biggest animals possible."

But I've also got my eye on youth-focused gear because, just as importantly as filling my tags, my interest in getting my young kids involved in the shooting sports is starting to take the front seat. Admittedly, I'm a bit selfish because I'd rather watch my kids compete in a youth trap league than a basketball tournament, but I also have the responsibility to introduce them to the things I'm passionate about.

If you're in a similar situation, check out this short video I filmed at the 2015 SHOT Show with great friend Linda Powell about Mossberg's new Blaze .22 LR. It's built around a polymer receiver, which allows for very tight manufacturing tolerances and and overall lightweight gun ... and that creates a very accurate, youth-friendly rifle.

But make no mistake, shooters of any age or stature will find enjoyment in the Blaze. From a plethora of finish options to an AK-47-inspired model, you'll find one for you and your family. And, if you're not good at sharing, the guns are priced to allow you to get a pink one for your little girl and a tac model for yourself.
