Mentoring Kids And Helping Ducks

Minnesota’s St. Michael-Buffalo Chapter of Delta Waterfowl volunteered their time recently during a local middle school’s activity day.

The class full of 5th graders from St. Michael-Albertville Middle School West had a great time learning about wood ducks and their habitat. Students paired up, helping each other in the construction of their very own wood duck house to take home and put up. One of the volunteers said it was amazing to see how fast the students caught on to using hammers, drills and screw guns.

Shown below is 5th grade teacher and Delta Waterfowl volunteer Lance Krupke showing the kids the next step in construction of their wood duck house. It’s obvious that fun was had by all.

We editors salute the St. Michael-Buffalo Chapter of Delta Waterfowl for taking the time to share their passion for the outdoors with the next generation. Great job guys!
