Bergara Barrels, a well-known OEM supplier to several top rifle manufacturers, started making custom rifles three years ago. By incorporating its proprietary rifling process, and under the direction of former Marine sniper and rifle builder, Dan Hanus, Bergara’s custom rifles have become widely respected by big game hunters, law enforcement and long-range shooting enthusiasts.
Now they’ve entered the realm of production rifles. Bergara’s combining the custom looks and performance they’ve achieved in the past three years with their custom rifles and passing the affordability of a production rifle on to the consumer.
The new BPR-16 rifles will be outfitted with a high-performance 416 stainless steel barrel that receives a proprietary honing process and is then fixed with a Bergara Premium action, featuring a coned bolt nose and breech with a sliding plate extractor. They’re constructed on either hand –laid fiberglass or Grade 5 highly-figured walnut stocks which both sport an aluminum bedding block. Plus, the barrels and actions receive a Cerakote™ finish, destroying the glare of the stainless steel and providing extended defense against the elements. On top of all that the rifles are furnished with a world famous Timney trigger.
